‹ما يقال بالقوّة›
(٣٩) الأشياء التي يقال إنّها بالقوّة منها ما هو بعيد ومنها ما هو قريب. أمّا البعيد، فبمنزلة ما يقال إنّ الصبيّ بالقوّة عالم بالنحو، وإنّ الماء بالقوّة نار، وأمّا القريب، فبمنزلة ما يقال في النحويّ النائم إنّه نحويّ، وفي الزفت والكبريت إنّهما بالقوّة نار. عناصر البدن منها عامّيّة متقدّمة في الطبع بعيدة عن الحسّ، وهي التي ذكرناها فيما تقدّم، ومنها خاصّيّة متقدّمة عند الحسّ قريبة، وهي الأعضاء المتشابهة الأجزاء، ومنها وسط فيما بين هاتين الطبقتين، وهي الأخلاط، ومن أجل ذلك ينبغي لنا أن نذكر أوّلاً هذه، ثمّ نأخذ في ذكر العناصر القريبة.
