(٦) الذين قالوا إنّ العناصر كثيرة منهم من قال إنّها لا تحسّ ولا تألم بمنزلة قول ديمقريطس، ومنهم من قال إنّها تحسّ وتألم بمنزلة قول أسقليبياذس، ومنهم من قال إنّها لا تألم لكنّها تحسّ بمنزلة قول أنكساغورس، ومنهم من قال إنّها لا تحسّ لكنّها تألم بمنزلة قول أبقراط، ومعنی الألم هاهنا قبول الأحداث، وإذا جمع كلّ واحد من الألم والحسّ وعدم الألم وعدم الحسّ مع كلّ واحد من الثلثة الأخر تركّب من كلّ اثنين منهما تركيباً، وبعض هذه التركيبات يلتأم وبعضها لا يلتأم علی هذه المثال:
