(٢) ومن أجل أنّه قد تبيّن أنّ الأرض والماء والهواء والنار أسطقسّات كلّ الكائنات الفاسدات وهي الحارّ والبارد والرطب واليابس التي في غاية القصوى وأنّها تفعل الأجسام التي تحت الكون والفساد بالامتزاج والاستحالة فليكمل قولنا هذا ونتبعه بالقول على امتزاج هذه الأسطقسّات وتغيّرها واستحالتها وأيّ ما أغلب منها في كلّ واحد من أنواع الحيوان وأعضائه والنبات وثماره وﷲ موفّقنا وعليه نتوكّل وبه نستعين.
تمّ كتاب الأسطقسّات الذي استخرجه حنين بن إسحق من كتاب جالينوس.
